Year 7 Transitions

It is fantastic news that your child has been allocated a Year 7 place at Thomas Hall School for September 2025! On behalf of all of our staff and pupils, we would like to welcome you to our school community.   

Thomas Hall School is a professional place for high quality learning and teaching. Introducing the Transition Team  

The Transition Team is currently in communication with all of our partner primary schools to transfer key information from your child’s class teacher. This is to find out as much as we can about your child so that the transition to secondary school is as smooth as possible.  

The Transition Team includes:

Induction Events 

We will be holding our first Year 7 parent event on Thursday 8th May where parents and pupils will find out more about our school and how we support the transition from the primary to secondary phase of learning.   

A transition booklet has been created full of information for you and your child to go through so that you are fully prepared for the transition to Thomas Hall School.   

This will be available on our website at the end of May. – www.thomashallschool.org  

Following this evening, there will be a transition period, that is consistent across Exeter, where pupils will have an opportunity to meet their class tutor and get a feel for the school.  

Parent Portal 

At Thomas Hall School we use Arbor as our main system to process all information on our pupils. This system comes with a parent application called Parent Portal which you can use to track your child's behaviour, attendance and much more. You will receive an email with login details on how to access this system, once your child has started at Thomas Hall School.  

ParentPay  

We operate a cashless payment system and our preferred method of payment is by using a secure online website called ParentPay. Details of how to activate your personal account will be shared during our transition events; enabling you to pay for any items required by your child, such as dinner money, activities and resources. 

Uniform 

Our pupils chose our school uniform – in our secondary phase we have two options that can be worn, details of which can be found on our website. All of our uniform is available in Thomas Moore in Exeter.
